Parents of a boy Sophia sits next2 in school have swine flu.I'm keeping her home last 3 days. Who keeps schls open end July amidst pandemic?
  •
Miraculously, Sophia and I were able to get the stupid Bendarooz today at Toys'r'Us in Croydon. The nightmare is over )
  •
All grown-up Sophia is watching The Wiggles with Clara. She is appalled: "The dog does not talk! They made Wags talk!" Times have changed :)
  •
In 1998 I got married for the first time - and to a guy I met on the Internet. I agreed to marry him before meeting in person. I am old!!!
  •
a juice shop on London road sells a "Son of a Peach" smoothie. Not very original I guess, but not that bad either
  •
Off to buy pink hair dye for Darya, then a toy for Clara and Sophia each, and then to London to meet L&L and see IT. I so want it/IT 2 work!
  •
And 24-hr delay -I didn't get it when Friday news broadcast only Cronkite death and nothing else. RIP,but he was 92 and it was,er, expected
  •
But, yesterday we finally went to visit the dogs after 1,5 months. Ther are OK. Bought on the roadside and ate a kilo of cherries on the way
  •
I just wanna be out of here and I want the new place to work. I like small cool places with style and little things/small space to maintain.
  •
meanwhile, water from the pipes upstairs is showing up on a living room ceiling, which isn't a good sign. My toilet is their least concern.
  •
Alledgedly one woman said her dog can't live like that.Does her dog cook or use the toilet? I cleaned here for hours, there's NOTHING wrong!
  •
Our agent has shown the house to a couple of prospects and is pissing all over the place about alledgedly dirty stove, fridge and toilets.

Remembered that today was a last day to deal with my BPP offer, where I applied to a GDL program.Such a rich imaginary academic life I got!
  •
Got an admission offer from Birkbeck law school, where I interviewed on Tuesday. Dunno what to do with it now. Gotta decide with UL External
  •
Just gave a 1.5hr opinion research poll interview to a Mori woman. Its gotta be hard to get people who will give this much time and annswers
  •
And, I can't go to the gym now because my left leg it still in excrusiating pain. I can't run. Going 2drink alot before sleep now, 2hydrate.

  1.
I'm re-reading the 7th Harry Potter book and don't seem to recall any of it.Was I so off in Venezuela 2 years ago, or is it so unmemorable?
  2.
Although the original purpose was of course to use it on the phone, where I am olgachilds but it does not read Russian
  3.
Ok, it worked, I set Skype as sagareva. Gmail found 94 of my email contacts on Skype. Including people who I know cannot even use email.
  4.
Haha, actually turns out I cannot run Skype at home. I suspect that Sky broadband has settings preventing that, since Sky is a phone company
  5.
I think as a graphomaniac I am estopped from using any IM, including Skype, on a comp, where typing isnt limited by inconvenience of a phone
  6.
@kshn а в магазине полистать? я например прямо в магазине листала книжку Арбатовой, чтобы про себя найти. Тоже мне, еще денег платить
  7.
@kommersant and I am not surprised that the TU154 passed a tehosmnotr. But then, people who passed a recent physical die of cancer every day
  8.
On my new Skypephone I can read Russian chats no better than Russian contacts (not at all). Wonder if I should install Skype on my laptop.
  9.
I had a horrid calf muscle spasm when I tried to sleep,5 to 7 am. WTF! Havent had those since teenage years - and I'm 34! Leg still unusable
  10.
And finally, apparently LIe to Me series is now showing in Russia. In Russian. Ha-ha! I can imagine.
  11.
I noticed that in the past two months, price of bread jumped on average 25%, and price of milk fell about 25%. I wonder if there are reasons
  12.
Also about HP6 - it watches squarely as an episode of a series and only makes sence 2followers, and so they shouldn't have dropped the music
  13.
But basically, I know how to tell a great movie form an average one. You are either inspired afterwards, or you are tired. Sadly.
  14.
Saw Wal-Mart in trends and thought that maybe it died?Just been to ASDA shopping, certainly did look like World War II just took place there
  15.
Just came back from watching Harry Potter.A solid movie. Everyone is adults and they are wearing jeans. But it could be way more spectacular.
  16.
I signed the "Visiting Artists and Academics" petition! http://petol.org/MCvisit #petol
  17.
People in Southwark council school admissions have an intellect lower than that of half an egg, & they can't read. Where do they get these?
  18.
@jtwill84 I remember standing in a long line to get a 7th book at midnight two years ago,and falling asleep on the first chapter afterwards
  19.
BBC says average length of UK unemployment is 5 months.CNN has a story tonight of a Brit woman who applied to 400 jobs.I'm not that bad yet.
  20.
Gordon Brown's appearance in parliament is live on BBC now. It is weird! Why is British politics so based on disrecpect for each other?
  21.
And,I got a check from Envirofone. Exactly a week after I posted my phones to them, and the promised sum. Dunno why some people are so angry.
  22.
Just got my first checkbook (chequebook as it is here) in the UK. Its weird! Checks are different from American. Dunno what to write where.
  23.
ЦБ РФ уговорил банки не привлекать вклады в рублях по ставке выше 18%. Reads like a joke.If a bank there offers 12%+ interest, means its dead
  24.
Yeah, and my new phone also has free use of Windows Live Messenger. Any friends on that one? I am sagareva@livejournal.com (don't ask why)
  25.
@Natsla apparently you can use it as an instant messenger, too )
  26.
So I have some 300 phone numbers for which I have no frigging idea who they belong to. On the upside, I did recognize&rename a dozen or two.

Self-study isn't supposed to be for everyone. But if it isn't 4those people who have already been to Law School twice, then I dunno 4 whom.
  •
Birbeck offer will give me a UofL student number, and my external app will be on a different track. In self-study, LLB will be 4 times cheaper
  •
The reason- I wanna use their offer as an argument for admission into U of L external self-study track, which does not do interviews. Slick?

Tomorrow I am going to an admission in terview in a Birbeck College Law School in University of London, which I know I am not going to attend

That means what? I should stop looking for a job here and go to Russia run for President? Or now I've GOTTA get hired, to prove a point?

What AM I doing? Just wrote a letter that says "I am interested in a conference co-ordinator position". I iled! Gotta get on with the books.

An interview seems to be a changepoint. Russians have dismissed me if they never actually talked to me, sure. But never after an interview.

This does not go for situations where there were informal discussions with people who knew me, or of me. This is open-market.

And this is territory-independent. I was hired by Russians for jobs in the U.S., as well as turned down by the English for jobs in Moscow.

Interesting stats given that I lived abroad for most of my life after 16. It's personality (Russians) vs. technicality (others). I think.I have been offered EVERY job I EVER interviewed for, if all interviewers were Russian. And denied every one where they weren't, so far. Hm.It appears that in all my years in the US, Russia and England, I've been turned down each time - and only!- when interviewed by non-Russians

While I was writing last update, this popped up in a feed: "cnnbrk- U.S. unemployment rate at its highest in 26 years". Isn't this ironic,

04-2009 to date in England. 120-150 applications so far, 5 interviews so far, and the 6th next week, no offers. Time to change... something.

In 08-10/2007 in Moscow:+/- 30 CV's, 4 interviews. "Moscow Times" turned me down, 3 eventually offered jobs. Two jobs sucked, third was RIA.
@Natsla - BTW "hold on" means "wait", you probably meant to say "hang in there", as americans would in such a case ))) but I understood you

@Natsla - I tried both. But if I am determined to work for that organization, then I will, you know how it goes. Thankfully it is VERY big.

I hate myself for sitting on the North Korea materials more than for anything else. Exactly a year since the fateful NC column in RIA now.

In 05-06/2006 in Moscow: +/-30 resumes, 3 meaningful interviews. Amnesty International turned me down, 2 others offered a job, incl. TWEED
